Getting started with therapy can feel like a daunting or mysterious process. Making the initial phone call and meeting for the first appointment may feel awkward though many people also experience a sense of relief in taking that first step. I hold great respect and admiration for the courage it takes each client to set out on this journey. I look forward to working collaboratively with clients to make meaningful change.
Therapy involves a commitment of time, money, and energy and I believe that it is important to consider thoughtfully your choice of therapist. The first session is an opportunity to get acquainted and discuss your specific concerns. After the first few sessions, I will provide recommendations and discuss a treatment plan and goals. At this time, we can both decide if I am the best person to provide the services you need. In order to provide the best possible care for you, I am glad to provide referrals as necessary. Please feel free to ask me questions at any point so that your decision to work with me is well-informed.
